Have you noticed the Railings?

FoHG has worked closely with the Council and the Ealing Broadway Ward Forum to install new railings along the footpath of the diagonal road across the green. Over many years, groups of passengers waiting at the bus stops strayed onto the grass and wore it away.  Plastic matting proved unsightly and completely ineffectual in solving the problem.

FoHG proposed that a rail along the edge of the footpath would deter people from walking on the grass and this was installed in the spring of this year. We worked with the Ward Forum on the design of the rail to ensure it was in keeping with the existing rails in the north west corner.  The results are becoming clear already.  The rail seems to be successful in keeping of the grass and giving it a chance to recover.
